Probate and Elder Law

PRACTICE

AREAS

PROBATE

When a loved one passes away, it is very difficult for the family.  It is helpful to have a lawyer you know and trust to guide you through the probate process.

CONSERVATORSHIP

If you have a loved one with a disability who is no longer able to care for themselves, a court may  appoint a  conservator to make financial and/or medical decisions for the person with a disability. I can assist you with obtaining a Conservatorship for your loved one.  I also have extensive experience serving as a conservator.

ESTATE PLANNING/TRUSTS

We all need to plan for the future.  I draft estate planning documents including wills, Qualified Income Trust, Special Needs Trusts, testamentary trusts, living wills and powers of attorney.

ELDER LAW

I have extensive experience and knowledge of the senior population and their unique needs. I am familiar with the physical and mental difficulties that often accompany the aging process. I can assist you and your family with elder law issues including placement and TennCare Medicaid eligibility.

SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY

I can assist you with applying for SSD or SSDI benefits or with reconsideration or an appeal if you have been denied benefits.

ABOUT

Making sure that you and your loved ones are able to live a life in dignity with the resources they are entitled to is important and something I have devoted my career to for many people.  Growing old or having a disability is hard enough and the mounds of paperwork and time needed to ensure you are properly covered is complex and can be overwhelming.  And the legalities involved in caring for a family member who needs helps with these affairs can be complicated.  This is what I spend most of my day working on and is second hand to me.   I can help you make sense of it all and come up with a plan to help you or a loved one get care they need.  I would be honored to meet with you and find how I can help find a solution to make sure your needs are covered.
